"Life's Open Roads"
Chuck’s Roadhouse Bar & Grill is a popular restaurant chain in the GTA. When they reached out to us in 2018, they had 32 locations, but had never done an official commercial before. They wanted to make their presence known to a broader audience, with an emphasis on the 3 G’s: good food, good beer, and good times.
Honing in on ‘the roadhouse’ concept, we went with a Western-tinged motorcycle theme, complete with a grizzled, Sam Elliot-style voiceover. We put the food front and centre, and snuck in some humour with the two strangers at the bar bonding over the game on TV. And in a lucky accident, a guy on a Harley just happened to be driving by in the opening shot!
This spot played on TV all the time; it was on CP24 during the day, and on TSN during the Raptors and Leafs games at night. It certainly reached the right audience; since launching the commercial, Chuck’s has doubled from 32 to 64 locations in 2022. Yeeeee-haw!
Social Media Versions
We cut together a 30-second version for TV, and a 15-second version aimed at hockey fans, promoting $4 dollar pints during all Leafs games.
